Summit Sales Partners originated from a lifelong friendship and a strong drive to address common business challenges, particularly those faced by David Austin while leading sales teams. David knows firsthand that one of the primary challenges facing Sales and Marketing teams is the process of turning cold Leads and Prospects into actual Sales Opportunities. Many companies have observed a widening gap between the pursuit of Leads and the creation of Opportunities in their sales processes. The exploding costs and recurring challenges of hiring Inside Sales and Business Development professionals to create Opportunities from Leads for the outside Sales Team has made this process unsustainable and unprofitable for many companies eager to grow their business. Simply put, maintaining status quo is not an option for companies hoping to grow and scale.

Knowing David’s problem, Clay Bethune propositioned David to allow him to help solve the problem and Summit Sales Partners was born. Clay has extensive experience launching and scaling companies using offshore resources and felt he could create a program to help B2B sales organizations confidently build their pipelines based on his deep understanding of sales processes and go-to-market strategies. In addition to other ventures, he currently owns and operates offshore call centers and has been using offshore resources for over 10 years.

Executive Team

David Austin

Cofounder and President

David Austin has more than 28 years of experience in sales, business development, marketing and general management in the healthcare, corrections and security industries, most recently as VP and General Manager of Healthcare Safety, Corrections and Security at Metrasens, Inc., a VC-held technology firm based in the United Kingdom. He has also served in leadership and individual contribution roles with both publicly-traded corporations and VC- and PE-funded companies, including Siemens Healthineers, Gamma Medica, Hologic (as part of the acquisition of Sentinelle Medical), Applied Spectral Imaging and Olympus Medical/Hitschfel Instruments. David earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from the University of Missouri and his MBA from the Olin Business School at Washington University in St. Louis.

David is married to Liz Austin, the Chief Marketing Officer at Green Street Real Estate Ventures, and they are raising 3 kids- Reagan, Ryan and Rory. In his (limited) spare time, he enjoys family time, golf, youth sports and travel.

Clay Bethune

Cofounder and Principal

Clay Bethune has a long history as a successful entrepreneur. He has extensive experience building companies with offshore resources, having personally hired and onboarded over 100 offshore employees. He currently owns offshore call centers in addition to several other ventures. He also has a history of brand development, process creation, operational expertise, and sales management. He has started and scaled many successful businesses with several successful exits, including forming a successful joint venture with a Fortune 500 company that is still operational and growing today. He has been featured in many publications and is currently a columnist for Kiplinger’s. He has been a judge at Startup Weekend, a panelist at Techweek in NYC and received the prestigious “20 under 40” award. He is passionate about helping young entrepreneurs launch and grow their own businesses. 

When not working he likes to spend time with his wife Elly and his two beautiful daughters, Chase and Blakely. His favorite hobby is coaching his daughter’s youth softball team. In 2023 their team won both the Little League State Championship and USA Softball State Championship. 

Prateek Batra

Prateek Batra

CFO

Prateek brings over ten years of accounting and financial management experience. He started his career in the Risk Advisory Division of Ernst & Young and worked there for over five years. Prateek left Ernst & Young and started his consulting practice to pursue his passion for advising and counseling high-growth startups and corporations. He has held numerous positions as Financial Advisor, Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Controller, and Consultant with companies across the US, Canada, Europe, Australia, and Asia.

As the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Prateek is responsible for  the company’s financial functions, including accounting, corporate finance, financial planning and analysis, and investor relations. Since taking over the role of CFO, Prateek has worked on implementing financial controls, and data-driven decision-making and has played a pivotal role in making the company's strategic decisions. He is passionate about helping the company realize its goal of becoming an international corporation.

Outside of work, Prateek loves traveling to the mountains and spending time with his family.
